Terms and conditions.

By enrolling in classes at Circus Academy of Singapore, students (parents/legal guardians, if applicable) agree to comply with all terms and conditions set forth by the academy. These terms include, but are not limited to, policies on safety, attendance, payments, refunds, media usage, and conduct. The academy reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time, and students will be informed of any significant changes.

1. Safety Policies

1.1 General Safety & Studio Conduct

Safety First: All students must adhere to safety instructions provided by instructors at all times. This includes following warm-up routines, practicing proper techniques, using equipment correctly etc. The safety and well-being of students, instructors, and staff are of utmost importance.

Medical Declaration: Students are required to disclose any past or current medical history, injuries, pain, or concerns to their instructors. Lessons may be adjusted to ensure that students can safely participate. Instructors reserve the right to decline participation to any student deemed unfit to attend the class, with the student's health and safety as the primary concern.

Supervision: Younger students (under 12) must be supervised by an adult guardian when not in class. Parents of toddlers are encouraged to stay during class times.

Spotting: For activities involving height or complex manoeuvers, spotters will be assigned to assist students. Instructors will ensure that all spotting techniques are understood and applied correctly.

Dress Code: Students must remove any accessories such as watches, piercings, jewelries etc. that may become safety hazards.

Studio Space: Always be mindful and respectful in the studios as there are often concurrent classes sharing the same space. Watch out for others who may be carrying out an exercise. No food and drinks to be on training spaces.

1.2 Emergency Procedures

Emergency Contacts: All students must provide up-to-date emergency contact information upon registration.

First Aid: The academy will have a first aid kit on-site at all times, and at least one instructor with certified first aid training will be present during classes.

Incident Reporting: Any injuries or accidents must be reported immediately to the instructor. An incident report will be filled out and kept on record.

1.3 Equipment Use

Proper Use: All students will receive training on the correct use of all circus equipment/apparatus before participation. Misuse of equipment will not be tolerated. Students must be supervised by instructor at all times through the session and will be responsible for their own safety for any negligence. Students are to use equipment appropriately for the intended purposes of the given activities and under the guidance and supervision of the instructors.

Maintenance: The academy will regularly inspect and maintain all equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order. Any faulty equipment will be removed from use until repaired.

2. Code of Conduct

2.1 Respect for Others

Inclusivity: Circus Academy of Singapore is a place where all individuals regardless of age, background, or skill level, are treated with respect. The school will take immediate actions against any discriminatory behavior.

Behavior: Students are expected to behave courteously and cooperatively, contributing to a positive learning environment. Disruptive or negative behavior will not be tolerated.

2.2 Attendance and Punctuality

Class Timeliness and Absence: Students are expected to arrive 5-10 minutes before class to ensure minimal disruption to the class and have proper warm-up to prevent injury. Instructors reserve the right to deny students participation in class at their discretion. Students who will absent must notify the academy as soon as possible, ideally at least 12 hours before the class begins. Notification should be made via the official communication channels (email, phone, or designated messaging app).

Excused Absences: Absences due to illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other valid reasons may be considered excused. Documentation (e.g., a doctor’s note) may be required for verification.

Unexcused Absences: Failure to attend class without prior notice or valid reason will be considered an unexcused absence and the student's credit may not be returned or make-up credit may not be given.

2.3 Dress Code

Safety and Comfort: Students must wear appropriate, well-fitted clothing that allows for a full range of movement. Tight or properly fitted attire is essential for safety, as loose or baggy clothing can become caught in equipment or obstruct movement, leading to an accident. Ensuring that clothing fits securely minimizes the risk of injury and allows instructors to accurately assess and assist with techniques.

Appropriate Attire: Certain classes may require specific attire (e.g., tight-fitting tops for aerial classes). Instructors will provide guidance on the required clothing.

3. Enrollment and Payment Policies

3.1 Registration Process

Enrollment: All new students must go through registration on our OClass application before participating in any class. There will be a registration fee of 5 SGD.

Waivers: A liability waiver must be signed by all students or guardians for minors, acknowledging the inherent risks of circus activities.

Bookings: Enrollment or any bookings within 24hrs before the class timeslot have to be subjected to the school's prior approval.

3.2 Payment Terms

Payment Schedule: All payments must be made before attending any class.

Methods of Payment: CAS only accepts payments via bank transfer, PayNow or Cash.

3.3 Refund Policy

CAS maintains a strict No Refund Policy for all classes, workshops, and events. By enrolling in our programs, students and guardians acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

No Refunds for Missed Classes or Withdrawals: Once payment has been made and enrollment is confirmed, no refunds will be issued for missed classes, withdrawals, or cancellations initiated by the student. This policy applies to term-based classes, drop-in sessions, workshops, and all other sessions conducted by CAS.

Cancellations by CAS: In the event that a class or workshop is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, students will be offered CAS class credits of similar value or a cash refund, at the academy’s discretion.

Non-Transferable Payments: Payments made for classes, packages, or workshops are non-transferable. Enrollment or fees may not be transferred to another individual, term, or program.

Special Circumstances: In rare cases, such as serious medical emergencies or other extenuating circumstances, CAS may issue class credits of similar value. These cases will be evaluated on an individual basis and require supporting documentation. Issued class credits under these circumstances are transferable.

Commitment to Class Schedule: By enrolling, students commit to attending all scheduled classes during the term or event. Missed classes will not be refunded or rescheduled. Students must adhere to CAS’s make-up policies as outlined in Section 4.3.

4. Class Structure and Curriculum

4.1 Age Groups and Levels

Class Levels: Classes are generally all-leveled with appropriate skill progressions. Instructors will determine whether a student is ready to move on to the next progression or skill. It is important not to attempt a new progression or skill in the class without prior approval from the instructor. Students should respect the instructor's judgment and trust their expertise in determining the appropriate timing and student's readiness for skill progressions. If a student has questions or wishes to discuss their progress or readiness for the next skill, they should approach the instructor for guidance and feedback.
Age Categories:
Youth classes are available to children aged 5 to 16. All other classes are available to persons aged 16 and above.

4.2 Class Size

Maximum Enrollment: To maintain the quality of instruction, each class has a specific capacity set within the booking system. Enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Waitlists: If a class reaches capacity, students may join a waitlist and will be notified if a space becomes available.

4.3 Cancellations and Make-up Classes

Make-up Eligibility: Make-up classes are available for students who informs CAS minimally 12 hours prior to the class start time. A valid reason must be provided if the school is only informed after the 12-hour window, subjected to the CAS's approval.

Make-up Terms: Each student is entitled to a maximum of 3 make-up credits per term. These credits must be used within the same term by default. If unused, students may roll over their make-up credits to the next term, provided they enroll in the subsequent term. However, if a new term is not purchased immediately after, any remaining make-up credits will expire. Make-up credits are specific to their respective class tiers. Credits from a higher-tier class can be used for make-up in the same or a lower-tier class. However, credits from a lower-tier class cannot be used for make-up in a higher-tier class.

Make-up Scheduling: Make-up classes are to be arranged and subjected to CAS's approval based on availability and class cohesiveness.

Drop-in Terms: Drop-in enrollments must be booked minimally 24 hours in advance and dependent on vacancy of the class as term students have priority over class slots. Students will have to contact CAS to make a booking subjected to availability. Drop-in credits are strictly non-transferable.

Drop-in Expiry: If a student is unable to finish using their drop-in credits within the validity period, an extension may be granted for a fee. The fee is 5 SGD if only 1 credit remains unused, or 10 SGD for 2 or more credits unused.

Drop-in Withdrawal: Drop-in enrollments can be cancelled directly through the student's account if done at least 24 hours prior to the class. After this period, students must contact CAS to request a withdrawal. Only special circumstances, such as medical conditions or emergencies, will be considered for the return of drop-in credits. In all other cases, including no-shows or avoidable last-minute cancellations, drop-in credits will be forfeited.

General Guideline: Make-up classes should not be viewed as an entitlement; they are intended to support students facing extenuating circumstances. For special situations or requests for extensions or suspensions of enrollment (such as overseas deployment or medical reasons), students may discuss their arrangements with CAS regarding their current term package. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

5. Health and Wellness Policies

5.1 Health Declaration

Medical Information: Students or guardians must declare any pre-existing and past medical conditions or injuries during enrollment. This information will be kept confidential and used only for safety purposes.

Fitness Requirements: Students should be in good health and physically able to participate in classes. If in doubt, seek a medical professional's expertise. A medical clearance may be required.

5.2 Illness Policy

Stay Home: Students who are feeling unwell or have a contagious illness should not attend class. A make-up class may be arranged if a student misses class due to illness.

Return to Class: Students recovering from injury or illness must provide a doctor’s note confirming they are fit to return to class if requested by the academy.

5.3 Injury Protocol

Immediate Action: In the event of an injury, the class will be halted, and first aid will be administered. The incident will be documented, and guardians will be informed immediately if the student is a minor.

Follow-Up: Students who suffer an injury may need to be assessed by a medical professional before returning to class.

6. Privacy and Confidentiality

Please refer to the full details outlined in our Privacy Policy available on the CAS website.

6.1 Data Protection

Confidentiality: All personal information provided to the academy will be kept confidential and used solely for administrative and safety purposes.

Data Security: The academy will ensure that all student data is stored securely and only accessible by authorized personnel.

6.2 Photography and Media

Opt-Out: Students or guardians who do not wish to be photographed or filmed must inform the academy in writing.

7. Communication Policies

7.1 Feedback and Complaints

Open Communication: The academy values feedback from students and guardians. Any concerns should be raised directly with the instructor or through the official communication channels.

Resolution Process: Complaints will be addressed promptly, and the academy will work with the parties involved to find a satisfactory resolution.

8. Amendments

CAS reserves the right to review and/or amend any term in these terms and conditions from time to time as it deems fit. Any amendments to these terms and conditions will be notified to you in any manner as CAS may decide two weeks prior to such amendments taking effect.

9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
